Bunco tonight!

Tonight i was invited to play bunco with a new group. 1/2 of the group is my usual group but a newbie needed a few extra players so I was asked to come play. It was a good thing as I had not played in awhile and was itching to play. I had originally accepted an invitation to play at Yvonne's house (one of my Vegas Tournament bunco sisters) last week but couldn't attend due to family obligations. The lady, Bea Harris, who hosted bunco at her house was such a gem. There was just something so sweet and inspirational about her. What's so odd was I felt this "connection" w/her the moment I stepped into her house and met her. I can't explain it but in the end, I learned, she has 2 boys, one passed in 1995 who was a world champion sky surfer/sky jumper (Rob Harris), she was raised by her grandmother when she was little and met her biological father before he passed. She grew up in Union City moved to Southern Cal immediately after she got married. Just hearing her talk a little bit about herself, just touched me. I can totally relate to her getting married & moving to southern cal soon after! She mentioned how hard & devastating it was since she was born & raised in the Bay Area. I totally knew how she felt b/c that's what happened when I married Steve (my ex husband) We got married in Reno and 2 weeks later, we left San Francisco and moved to southern cal. Omg, i was so sad....i cried for months. Steve & I fought day and night and all the way up to the day we moved and while we drove to southern cal. I'll never forget that. It was such a sad time even though it should've been a happy time being a newlywed. Talk about ignoring red flags huh? Anyway sorry for going off track there. I'm definitely going to keep in touch w/her. She's such a sweet lady. She's been through a lot yet she's so strong!

As for Bunco tonight, it wasn't crazy & loud like usual. My usual bunco sisters and friends are loud to the point of our ears hurting, ladies laughing to the point of peeing in pants and pure Bunco Euphoria. Since there was 1/2 of us oldies and 1/2 of us newbies, it wasn't as crazy since 1/2 of us were still "new" to the game and were learning vs going crazy. In the end, I ended up being the last 'traveler" and won my 10.00 back. (we put 10.00 each in the bunco pot and there's 4 ways to win at the end of the game).I wore my bunco bracelet that my sister in law, Lisanne (dave's sister) gave me for xmas. The last time i wore it, i won for most Bunco and won the big jackpot. Then the next few times I forgot to wear it, i didn't win squat. Tonight I remembered to wear it and I won. Call it luck? Call it whatever. All I know is, I had fun tonight, I met a sweet/genuine lady, and won my money back...BUNCO ANYONE?
