Happy Birthday Brad & Kyle!

Yeah..that's right! My two big boys, my biggest babies. Brad turns 17 on the 11th and Kyle turns 14 on the 13th. We took them out to George Petrelli's for steak. George Petrelli's is equivalent to Joe's of Westlake in Daly City (minutes outside of San Francisco). The place is old, run by old people and majority of people that eats there are old. Joe's of Westlake is italian food (pasta, veal parmesan, steak ala bruno, joe's special, etc) while George Petrelli's is known for their aged steaks & italian wedding soup. Petrelli's has pasta too but we haven't tried it. Maybe both restaurants have good food & many return old timers b/c both are run by italian families for many generations. There's history you know? The owner knows us and loves my boys. She is always quite impressed that they are well behaved and well mannered. We go about 2 times a year and when she sees them she's always delighted and shocked to see how much they've grown each time. She especially adores Bryce! Often times she'll chit chat w/us and tell us how she wishes many parents would discipline their children to sit still at the table and eat their dinner and not make a mess on the floor. She loves how Bryce is always polite and eats all of his dinner w/out a fuss. While I cannot say Petrelli's is like Morton's or Ruth Chris or Chop House, it's good enough for us since prices are pretty reasonable, the steaks are pretty good and the service is excellent. We haven't left unhappy or hungry yet!

Tonight, Kyle ordered a double filet mignon and Brad had the ribeye. Dave & I ordered the filet mignon for 2. All of the dinners includes, their "famous" beef veggie soup, salad, your steak cooked to order, starch & vegetables. Bryce had a bowl of italian wedding soup (his favorite). Tonight, the owner (I have to get her name next time, I keep forgetting to ask) was just as generous and so sweet to us. She treated all of us to ice cream since we were there for Brad & Kyle's birthday and for our 2 year anniversary. While Bryce didn't expect one and I had planned to share my scoop of ice cream w/him, she gave him a scoop too.

The 2 older ones are at the age of only wanting giftcards & money. To throw them off, we gave them a gift and stuck money in their bday cards. They assumed they weren't getting money so they were going to open their gifts first before they opened their cards. We told them to go ahead and open the card b/c they're funny (we give humorous bday cards all the time). When the money fell out of their cards, they were estatic! For their gifts, Brad got the Iron Man DVD (he really likes Iron Man) and Kyle got a Capt Rex Clone Wars Mighty Mugs figure & a Boss Hogs Hotwheel. Can't say they didn't enjoy dinner and their gifts b/c after dinner and on the way home, they both said, "Thanks Mom & Dave! We like our gifts, money and dinner tonight!"

Awwwwe...they're appreciative! A sign that definitely tells me my boys have manners and that I'm doing ok as a parent after all! Happy birthday to my big boys!
