Pumpkin Carving Night!

In preparation for Halloween and the last minute rush, we opted for Pizza Patron. It's another fast food pizza joint that is not italian but w/a hispanic twist to their menu. For fast food pizza, I have to say I like it better than Pizza Hut, Little Caesars & Papa Johns. We chowed it down quick to give us ample time to carve our pumpkins.
This year we were so busy we forgot about going to Underwood Farms up in Agoura Hills and we thought about going to Tanaka Farms in Irvine instead. However, being as big as I am now, I was just not up to waddling around a pumpkin patch, let alone walk through a huge farm like Underwood. We opted for (of all places) Smart & Final to purchase our pumpkins. For $3.99 each, the price was definitely worth the purchase even though they weren't the greatest shape for our templates but we managed!! We cut, poked, scraped, carved & etched away at our pumpkins. I have never etched a pumpking before and it was a lot of work. Etching is very messy!! Our pumpkin (Bryce picked the template and started the poking to trace the image and I did the manual labor of carving, scraping, cutting & etching..) Pirate Goofy turned out pretty nice considering it was my first time etching a pumpkin. I amaze myself at what I can do sometimes. Dave carved Superman's "S" logo by freehand, no template, Brad carved a Star Wars Rebel emblem and Kyle carved a Star Wars Boba Fett...Happy Halloween to all of you! May you get a lot of trick or treaters w/out the tricks!
