While he's about to fall asleep...

I figure I might as well take the time now to post. I have been meaning to update my blog but would be too tired by the time I remember and or too busy tending to the baby.
We are officially 3 weeks old today. He's a good baby but a big eater and I have to feed him every 2 hours on the dot. He wakes up right in that 2 hour time and it's, "waaaaah, feed me..". Once his diaper is changed and he's fed, he back to sleep or awake, looking around and just sitting in his bouncy seat all contempt. Oh he's a pacifier baby too. None of his brothers were pacifier suckers. You stuck a pacifier in their mouths and "Puh!" The pacifier was out! Kurt? Man he loves to suck and that pacifier is our saving grace to his sucking needs!
The best news is, I am pretty much back to normal. I have to practice my kegels to build up muscle strength again. The reconstruction surgery was done well and I am able to pee and poop like a normal person again. Whew. Nothing is more scary then to see how messed up you are after pushing for 3 hrs n how busted up you are after giving birth. Thank goodness most deliveries are not as traumatic as what i went through with delivering Kurt. So for you moms to be someday, don't worry about delivering the way I did this last time, it's not always like this. My previous were easier and just 4-5 pushes and they were out. This last experience was none like the others!
I did well with my weight & I am for the first time out of all my pregnancies have lost all the pregnancy weight and then some. I am officially wearing my size 8 jeans. I have never ever been able to lose much weight after giving birth to all my babies. In fact, losing the pregnancy weight was always difficult for me. When I got pregnant this time, I decided to be careful. I didnt eat more but I ate more often. The thing was, I wasn't always hungry or "starving". I didn't feel like I was necessarily eating for 2 either. My tastebuds were shot too. A lot of things didn't taste so good with this pregnancy so that was another factor in the "less" eating. When I was hungry, I ate enough to feel "full". Bc I knew there was a possibility that I would have gestational diabetes I knew to only take in 1/3 of a serving of sugar/carb/starch. I had no asian/hawaiian food (asian food is high in carbs) and no soda. Since the"sugary" stuff didn't taste good with this pregnancy, it was easy to opt out on eating it. Coke is my biggest weakness but this pregnancy, Coke didn't taste good either but water did. So the huge factor in the minimal weight gain was no soda tons of water. (for those of you who know me, I hate water) If I needed some fizzees, I would drink 1/4 -1/2 of a can of Coke just to satisfy my craving. Once it was confirmed that I had gestational diabetes, I would opt for a diet soda. I am not a huge fan of diet soda, but I enjoyed diet rootbeer, thanks to my cousin Stacy for recommending it. When I felt the urge to cheat, I'd have a scoop of ice cream or go to Foster Freeze for a banana split mix up. It's a version of a Dairy Queen Blizzard. That always hit the sweet tooth spot for me. So, my total weight gain with this pregnancy? 12 lbs. I still have a little bit of a belly but will work on losing that belly asap!
Kurt is officially 9lbs, .3 oz and 21 inches long. At his 2 week appt, the pediatrician was laughing and excited b/c he had gained his birthweight back and more. She was estatic to know he's doing well and is healthy as can be. I am just glad that he's ok from being sucked out at birth. His little head looked so painful. (He had an abrasion from the vacuum on his head and would scream in pain when anyone touched his owie). The scab fell of last week & his circumcision healed. Its heartwarming to see him smile n hear him laugh in his sleep but sad when he frowns n whimpers when he's having a bad dream.

I love these pictures but the last one is hilarious! It should be on a notecard or something. I will have to catch up on your blog sometime. I'm just dropping by and have to log off now. Congratulations on your little guy. I think I said that when he was born, but I just can't remember!
