emails & chain letters

I hate receiving emails about how someone cares about you, thinks about you, even if they never talk to you or see you and then it says to send it to 10 friends. Gawd, gimme a break. Don't put me on your distribution list and think that sending a mass email to everyone takes care of keeping in touch or telling me you care when I never see you and you never take the effort to write a personal email to say hello. There's also the telephone and you can call and say hi once in awhile. You can't tell me it's expensive to call b/c nights & weekends are free!
I mean, fine, i understand it's uplifting to being the receiver and you think it'll be uplifting to those you know. However, it's not uplifting when you get it from someone that never takes the time to call, email or visit you. I know if i received it from someone I talk to often and someone I occasionally see and keep in touch with, then I'd understand. It has some meaning behind it, you know? However, I never see this family member. I never talk to her. She never contacts me unless she wants to know something. I see her sometimes at family gatherings and even then we don't even talk.
All I can say is, Actions Speak Louder than Words and there hasn't been any actions from her in years. To get the email from her, I wasn't flattered or touched or impressed. Therefore I told her what I thought, told her how actions speak louder than words. I also told her I don't like being on a distribution list either unless there's something important and family related. Did she get it? Of course not. She removed me from her distribution list. (Which is fine)
Her loss.
