A Win-ah!

Yipppee... I won the auction for the Baby Sherpa diaper bag! Got the black one for 65.00 and it includes shipping. If I had bought it online, It would've been 100.00. I saved $35.00....
it was a close call as this other gal was bidding against me but I placed my maximum to 51.00. I could tell she wouldn't go any higher pass 50.00. Whew! Right after that I got nervous b/c there is a blue Baby Sherpa bag that was on the auction block at the same time by the same seller and my cheapy chinese side of me started to freak out. I thought, Man, if I was smart, I'd bid the black one to a certain point so that the other girl can win it and then I could bid for the blue one for a lower price and increase my chances of getting the blue one at a lower price. Well Good thing I didn't b/c the same girl bidded on the blue one and she got outbidded by another person that didn't do any bidding prior. The closing bid for the blue one was 41.00. Would've been nerve wracking if I had let the chinese side of me get the best of me to try to be cheap! There would've been 3 of us bidding for the blue one and I wouldve given up on the black one and probably ended up w/nothing! Plus! I really didn't want to the blue one either so I'm glad I didnt get greedy and cheap. I would've been "wishing" I had the black one instead. Bidding on eBay is nice if you win and if you can get a good deal but it does take some time, patience and the willingness to bid a lil more than you expect sometimes too.
Next and I'm not sure if we really want one or not. Deuter Kid Comfort II or III baby Backpack carrier or the Snugli Cross Country BabyBackpack carrier. The Deuter Kid is real nice and the lightest of all the baby backpack carriers on the mkt. Of course, being the best of the best there is a price that comes w/that too. It's 300.00! The Kelty 3.0 is nice too but it is heavier and bulkier than the Deuter Kid. My friend has the Snugli (yes a cheapy one! You won't find this one at A16 or REI!) and we tried it on us. It's a couple pounds heavier but not by much yet it is much more affordable. The couple of pounds can make a difference when you have a child in it and if you're like me who spits out 8 pounds babies, that's 10 lbs on your back! Since most babies are not put in the carrier til they're a lil older and can hold its head up, it's not going to be just 10 lbs but possibly 15+ lbs on your back! It is ergonomically correct and has a real good back support as well. Less compartments for things to hold but I figure, with the Baby Sherpa bag, we should suffice on the need for extra compartment space for our baby junk/parapernalia (sp?).
Oh the joy of baby shopping! Once we get the expensive stuff out of the way and find out for sure if we're having a boy...i can finally just add stuff to my registry. Yipppee!
