Weekends like the Shinozaki Family

We have our friends the Shinozaki Family that we are always amazed at how they manage their busy schedule. Weekends are booked months in advanced, weekdays are marked with Pampered Chef cooking shows, appts, & parties. Patty is a full time Pampered Chef consultant, her husband, Keith is a full time engr who Dave worked with on the Space Shuttle together. Between their busy schedule, their 2 kids, a couple of vacations a year, numerous trips to see her family in the Bay Area/Fresno and stops along the way, her bowling league, their stock investment club meetings, her kids birthday parties and their Annual Shinozaki End of Summer aka Shinozaki Shindig plus MANY more that I cannot even begin to tell you, they are one heck of a busy family. You know it's bad when Patty wants me to tell her when my baby shower is going to be so that she can make sure to put it on her calendar. She asked me for a date in July! My friends and I actually picked a date so that she could mark herself available for my shower in October! Anyway, we are officially much like them (to a certain extent). Since the end of July our weekends have been booked completely through Sept 28th!

Here are pictures of our busy weekends and little vacation we've taken up to last weekend's baseball game (Los Angeles Angels vs. Texas Rangers). Starting w/most recent and back...

08/30/08 Baseball game

Gerald Laird, Catcher for Texas Rangers. is the son of Vicky Laird who works for our company. He is a pretty good player and she is going to work something out for Kyle to meet him so that he can talk to him about baseball, get insights, inspiration, get the lowdown on what it's like to be a major league baseball player. (yes, kyle is hoping to play ball in high school, get a scholarship to play college ball and maybe be a MLB baseball player some day)

The night before we went to see John Williams at the Hollywood Bowl. We didn't bring our camera with us...then the weekend before we were (again) at the Hollywood Bowl to see Donna Summer. What a diva. I forgot how many gay guys LOVE her! The bowl was filled with so many gay guys I had to ask my sister via text message if my memory served me right about gay guys loving Donna Summer to death. You'd think growing up in San Francisco, I'd remember this. Sure enough, I was right! Gay guys LOVE Donna Summer (& Cher). I don't know why...

That same Saturday as Donna Summer at Hollywood Bowl, Bryce had a hula performance for Long Beach Ho'olaule'a at 1pm in the afternoon. It started late too and we got a little worried about getting to the Bowl on time.

Here is 1/4 of the Hula school students:
Bryce & Wailae were the only boys dancing that day. Zidane and his family are on vacation.
We need more keiki kanes to join the school! Any takers?

Then before that our San Diego weekend at Sea World & the Point Loma Lighthouse
Here are San Diego weekend pictures:

Here is the dog in the Clydesdale/Budweiser commercial that was seen during the Summer Olympics. He was in the stable w/the horse stable keeper...

Night show w/Shamu

At the Pt. Loma Lighthouse. I look pretty pregnant don't I? Yikes.
And no, I am not wearing the same top. I happen to have 2 tops that are the same color that I wore one day after the other.

So...this weekend, sept 6th is wedding rehearsal. Bryce is ringbearer for my coworker. Sunday the 7th is the wedding. Next weekend is Air Races, sorry Kristen, the two older boys & I are not able to come up since I do not want them missing school and then not doing or making up their missing assignments from missing their classes. Bryce and Dave will certainly be there for the air races and Ben's baby blessing.
On the 20th is the Shinozaki Shindig and a fundraiser for the Hula School at LMU to raise money to pay for the adv class to compete in Hawaii in November. On the 21st is a party we have to go to.
On the weekend of the 26th is Kayley's baptism so we'll be up in Sacto for that...
So in between all that is Bryce's hula classes every Wednesday and Saturdays along w/year round basketball practice on Saturdays at 2pm also for Bryce.
Whew! Need me to say more? Are any of your calendars like this?! Just think the Shinozaki family's calendar is WORSE than ours! We actually have two dry erase calendars side by side on the fridge to mark it up w/activities for present and following month.
October is filling up already too..At the top of my head, there's my brother, Wayland's birthday,Sherri's birthday, my cousin's bday, Brad's bday, Kyle's bday, Dave & my wedding anniversary, & my baby shower too.
Definitely never a dull moment here at the Gammell/Lee-Garcia household!
