And so we have Baby Brother Gammell Bear created/stuffed by Bryce from Build a Bear... He has 2 hearts-a red one and a purple one inside of his stuffing. The purple one cost a 1.00 and goes to the Kids' Diabetes Foundations. I just couldn't say no to that since I have gestational diabetes right now. Can you imagine growing up as a child and never really enjoying sugar..candy..sweets..cakes...ice cream? I am lucky this is only temporary! I think my 1.00 is worth it huh?
Friday marks me at 35 weeks. Today my coworker noticed my stomach is dropping. Oy vey. I am seriously getting nervous and scared too. Emotions running wild through me but I know everything will be ok. We completed 2 days of newborn class. It was a good refresher for me and good info for Dave. We also went on a maternity tour of the hospital and I'm glad we went as the L&D rooms are new and remodeled. At the same time, I was able to find out if Dr. Kobayashi was still there. He's the anesthesiologist that did my epidural when I was in labor with Bryce. He was "gentle" and help keep me calm through the needle poking. (I cannot stand needles...I am DEATHLY afraid of needles). So that was a HUGE relief to know he's still there and administers all the epidurals in L&D. Another plus was the L&D nurse that was my nurse w/Bryce. She is still there too so I look forward to running into her and hope she'll be my L&D nurse once again!
Things are definitely moving along fairly quickly. I have the diaper bag ready but not my bag. I am surviving the blood sugar testing/monitoring. The watching of my intake of carbs, starch & sugars have been good. I can't see how one can "gain" weight on this protein diet! I will be so done with eggs, ham, bacon & peanut butter when this is all over with. I can't wait to finally have some pancakes with sugary maple syrup! Maybe I'll have to go out to Blackboards in Seal Beach and live it up afterwards! Anyone care to join me?
This weekend, we have a birthday party to attend and later the same evening I am playing my last bunco game of 2008! I have a bunco bday party in January 2009 but w/the baby and full time nursing, I opted not to play but will attend the party w/the baby instead. Tomorrow, Friday is my 3rd baby shower w/my scrapbooking/rubberstamping gals. It is so nice to be loved! Will post pictures from the shower over the weekend!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
