After the car show we headed down to Orange County to go to the model store for some model airplane stuff and to meet up w/my friend Liz to pick up Disneyland tickets. As we were driving, we noticed smoke and haze to our left. The sky went from blue to an awful orangey haze. Remember last year when we went to the pumpkin patch in Agoura Hills? No? Well, it was a sunny day turned to smoke infested, orange day with the air quality going from good to bad/unsafe. Saturday afternoon it was just a like a repeat of last year's visit to the pumpkin patch only this time it was in Yorba Linda area. There was a firestorm! My friend's sister & mom's house were minutes from being burned down but luckily their houses ended up not being affected by the fire. We didnt hear from them until the next day as they were evacuated from their homes.

Other than that, the best part of Saturday was visiting Liz and Gavin. We ate a late lunch/early dinner aka LINNER at Red Robin. I was craving a burger. Gavin is just the cutest and such a great little kid! Afterwards we went to her house and hung out there for a little while. Gavin was such a ham. He entertained us and definitely made us laugh! He's such a delight! Thanks for a great visit evening, Gavin!
On Sunday we went to ....the Happiest Place on Earth aka Disneyland. We went to Disneyland instead of having a birthday party this year for Bryce. The original plan was to have a combined bday party w/his best friend, Carson (to save on cost) but things didn't work out that way so we opted a day at Disneyland for the two bday boys plus one good friend of theirs, Chimezie (pronounced chi meh zee).
I was a trooper as I did not rent a wheelchair or an ECV (electric charged vehicle). I decided to tough it out and walk the park. The only thing I'm paying for now are sore calves from climbing up Tarzan's Treehouse. Sarah (Carson & Lauren's mom), Lauren & I went up the treehouse (stair climbing torture) while the big kids rode the Indiana Jones Ride. It worked out great, the park was not crowded at all.

Bryce got picked to do the Jedi Training at Tomorrowland Terrace so he was a "celebrity" and got to fight Darth Mahl.

The birthday boys had a great time. Both of them said theyll never forget that day ever b/c they went to Disneyland w/their best friends! Dave & Bryce took picture w/one of the bears from Country Bear Jamboree

As for me, I got lucky! Brad, kyle & I were waiting for Dave and Bryce so we could go home. The smoke & ashes from the fire was in the anaheim air as I sneezed & blew my nose for the last hour of our visit. It was definitely time to go. I was bummed that we didn't get to see Mickey or get to take a pic w/him. However, as we were heading over to the Mad Hatter on Main Street to get Mickey ears embroidered w/my nephews' names, lo and behold who was right outside? MICKEY! Can't say we didn't get to see him after all! I got to take a pic w/my pal Mickey despite the puffy eyes , worn off make up from all the sneezing & eyes watering! I didn't care at that point!
