A new travel system and 17 weeks along....

Looong time no write huh? I have been so busy. Bryce just had his hula show so I have been busy prepping and making his ti leaves leis, wristlets, head lei and anklets. Taking him to dress rehearsals, basketball practice and hula class. See my little Kahuna? He did a great job and he looked like a little warrior out on stage! Next show August 23 and Sept 20....

At the same time I am in the middle of doing a Tupperware fundraiser for my company on-site Child Care/preschool. I have never done one before so this is all new to me. In the meantime, getting bigger and trying to rest comfortably as my belly has gotten big in the last couple of weeks. This weekend we spent an hour at Toys R Us checking out strollers (and hot wheels, starwars figures and toys of course) . I have been eyeing at one particular stroller for awhile and waiting for it to go on sale/clearance. Knowing that it was being discontinued, (Graco is changing the current color from silver/lavendar w/bubbles but no change to the overall stroller itself) I was waiting on purchasing the floor model one. Who couldn't pass up a deal on it being assembled along with that addtional discount for being out of the box? Not me, that's the cheapy chinese side of me. Dave couldn't agree w/me more on the ideas of getting big bangs for our bucks! The inspiration came from Jill. (she's a xanga blogger which is my private blogsite) What a baby shopping inspiration. She got a killer deal on her stroller. A darn deal...I mean steal...I mean ...for real! I mean whatever you want to call it. She got her Jeep Jogger stroller for...TAKE A WILD GUESS! Nope not even! Because you'll never guess or possibly come close! (unless you read her blog) We all know strollers are expensive. The cheapest kind of stroller you can get for dirt cheap is an umbrella stroller for about 10.00. Well? you ready? She got it for $20.00. Brand spanking new at Burlington Coat Factory in the Baby Depot section. A Jeep Jogger Stroller. I looked at the same one she got at Toys R Us/Babies R Us and it was going for about 89.99 I think. The wheels are the rubber bicycle wheels and all. Not the foamy cheapy wheels either! I was just so impressed! She was at right place at the right time! Since Dave and I have been trying to decide on what type of stroller to get, we checked out what Jill and other people have purchased/and or were planning to purchase. Took each one for a roll...stroll...opened and collapse them. Checked at the weight, bulky-ness and cost. The 3 choices were the Peg perego P3 (400.00 no car seat, addl 300.00 for seat sold separately), Chicco Cortina key fit travel system (300.00 w/car seat) , and the Graco Metrolite travel system (209.00).
We got...the Graco Metrolite Travel system. There was a clearance sale the day we went to check them out. The one I had been eyeing was the last one and it was the floor model too. I like the Metrolite b/c it is not the size of a boat like my previous Evenflo travel system. The Evenflo one was so big, bulky and heavy. I had the hardest time getting it in and out of the minivan. Since the "boat" was given to another friend of mine, it was an opportunity to buy a lighter and not so big stroller system. I also don't like a lot of the sage, beige and brown colors for strollers right now. I wanted something dark and I wanted to be a little different from the typical metro-moms. If we couldn't get the Graco Metrolite, the next choice was the Chicco Cortina. However, luck was on our side! (Jill? Did you send us some luck w/your purchase or what?) We got the Graco Metrolite for 130.00! $79.00 off the regular price. TRU was having a stroller sale , then it was on clearance sale and then there was the additional discount for buying the floor model. We couldn't pass up the deal so we bought it! Everything for the stroller came with it (car seat, car seat base and manual) and everything is in working order! Definitely not quite the deal like Jill's but who can complain if we go buy something and it's lower priced than what you thought you would pay! Picture of stroller below...
